Japanese characters in object types and event types (2024-04-10)When you create custom object types and event types, you can now use Japanese characters in the name of an object or event, and also in the names of its attributes. For the custom modeling instructions, see Creating custom object types and custom event types.
JDBC Extractor version 2.94.0 (2024-04-08) Delta loads now default to canceling if the metadata has changed For this version of the JDBC Extractor, we’ve fixed some issues with the recommended metadata change handling option while configuring delta extractions. With the default option (Option A), the delta load is canceled if the metadata from your source system changes compared to the already extracted data (for example, if new columns are added). You’ll need to do a full load or change the affected table manually. With the alternative option (Option B), the delta load runs with a warning message, but data for the new columns only appears in the newly loaded rows. Rows that aren’t in the delta load get null values in the new columns. Some users prefer this approach, but it does introduce a data inconsistency, and you should do a full load after getting this warning. For the instructions to update, see Installing and updating the on-premise JDBC extractor.
ServiceNow Extractor: Configuration Option for the "Order-by" parameter (2024-04-08) The User Order-by Parameter in Request configuration option enables the use of the ordering parameter in all API requests for an extraction. Enabling this option ensures data integrity by preventing missing records and duplicates. However, it will also lead to a longer extraction time and an increased load on the source system. To help minimize this impact, we recommend that you apply partitioning to reduce both the peak impact and the duration of the system being occupied or increase the batch size, which increases the peak impact but decreases the duration of the system being occupied. This option is disabled by default but can be enabled at the table level based on specific needs. This option can also be enabled via the extraction settings, which also enables it for all tables in the underlying extraction job.For the full extractor documentation, see ServiceNow Connection.
Use on-screen banners to alert users of updates (2024-04-04) As part of the Notifications section in Admin and Settings we have added a new feature that allow the admin of the team to create “in-product” notification banners. Once these notifications are created and published they become visible to all their users. This feature provides greater flexibility for admins when they want to communicate updates to their users. The updates might include: planned down-timedata load issuesgeneral business-related notifications We have also included a notification dashboard where admins can manage their published notifications.
Any way to copy a data model from one data pool to another? For sure both DPs contains the same tables, we use them as development and production environments and we don't want to create again the new DM from scratch ;-)
New warning messages in the Data Model UI for Data Integration (2024-03-31) Previously, Data Integration concatenated all the warning messages that the PQL engine returned for the currently loaded Data Model into a single string, which made it hard to pick out individual messages. For better usability, we've separated these back out, and we now present the warning messages individually in the frontend. So from mid-March, you might spot some warning messages for your Data Models that you didn't know about before. If your Data Model was working before, it'll continue to work in the same way, so you don't need to take any action now. The warning messages might reference some problems in the Data Model that Celonis was handling automatically - for example, with the cardinality of relationships - and we'll continue to handle these. If you choose to action any of the mentioned changes, you might realize some improvements in your Data Model's load time. Ask your Celonis point of contact if you have concerns about anything in the messages, or want help to make the referenced changes.
Change the start position for a chart scroll bar (Limited Availability) (2024-03-28) In the new Studio experience, you can now select where users start from in the scroll bar for a chart. By default, the scroll position starts at the right for dates, and starts at the left for all other charts. You can override the default to make the scroll start at the right or the left (top or bottom for vertical charts). For more information about the new Studio experience, see: new Studio experience (limited availability).
Recycling projects in Studio using trash can (Limited Availability) (2024-03-27) There's now a Trash feature in Studio, allowing you to declutter your Studio spaces and packages. After moving your space or package to the Trash, the items are kept for 180 days and then permanently deleted (unless manually recovered or permanently deleted prior to this).Click the Trash icon from your Studio spaces or package overview screens to view the items in your Trash: To learn how to manage your existing Studio spaces, see: Spaces. And for more information about managing your packages, head to: Managing packages and permissions.
Drag and drop dimensions in Charts (Limited Availability) (2024-03-27) You can drag and drop dimensions into the metric section when configuring your Studio charts, allowing you to quickly apply an aggregation and turn it into a metric. When attempting to do this with a chart that has two dimensions and no metrics, you're also prompted to turn a dimension into a metric if needed. For more information about the new Studio experience, see: new Studio experience (limited availability). And to learn how to create Studio views, see: Creating and configuring Studio views.
Edit the 'Active until' date for invited users (2024-03-27) You can now edit the 'Active until' date set for any users invited to join your Celonis Platform team but who haven't yet accepted the invitation. When viewing your existing users (available by clicking Admin & Settings - Users), you will now see an editable date selector. Once this date passes, the invitation expires and any attempts to accept the invite are denied. For more information about managing your users, see: Inviting users.
Linking from table cells in Studio views (Limited Availability) (2024-03-25) You can configure links from cells in the table component, using placeholders to populate custom URLs. This can be valuable for linking to a source system, where fields shown in a table are key URL parameters. To configure your table links, click into the Column settings and then enable Go to view or URL within the Selection behavior settings. For more information about the new Studio experience, see: new Studio experience (limited availability). And to learn how to create Studio views, see: Creating and configuring Studio views.
Use OAuth 2.0 to authenticate applications (2024-03-25)You can now use enterprise-grade OAuth 2.0 clients, as an alternative to API keys or application keys. When you create and register an OAuth client, you can set the required scopes to define the access level to the Celonis platform - ensuring the application is limited to the access level it requires. For the documentation, see Registering your OAuth client in Celonis Platform.
Process Adherence Manager (2024-03-21) Get to your target process faster We've simplified the user journey for analysts working with Process Adherence Manager in Studio, and added powerful new modeling capabilites to create your target process model. Choose object types and variants to mine a baseline model, then edit it to create a target model. You can insert and remove events, bypasses, and blocks to define your ideal process. For the Process Adherence Manager instructions, see Create your target model.
Filter the list of transformations (Object-centric process mining) (2024-03-14) We’ve noticed some analysts' object-centric data models have a long list of transformations, especially where multiple source systems are providing the data for objects and events. When you’re working with transformations in the Objects and Events UI, you can now filter the list of existing transformations by namespace (Celonis or custom), object type or event type, or data source, to find the ones you do want or exclude the ones you know you don’t want. The search function will operate on your filtered list, and we’ll let you know when filters are active. Creating custom transformations has more on working with transformations.
New Pie Chart component in Studio (Happy Pi Day!) (2024-03-14) We've added pie charts to Studio to give you a new way of visualizing your data. The Pie Chart component is only available to configure in YAML in the general availability feature set. (When you go to the new Studio experience, they'll have a visual editor there.) For the instructions, see Pie or donut chart. .
Use Business Miner with custom object-centric perspectives (2024-03-11) Business Miner can now be used with your custom object-centric models, in addition to the Celonis catalog processes. When you use a custom perspective as the data model for a Process Workspace, you can choose from the standard Explorations about throughput time, automation rate, unwanted activities, or unmet deadlines. Each Exploration is scoped to a single object - you'll need to select which object to explore when you create the Exploration. For the Business Miner documentation, see Business Miner.
Copy Paste improvements in Studio (Limited Availability) (2024-03-08) We've revised the copy and paste logic when editing your new Studio experience views, allowing you to paste your components in an exact position. This copy and paste logic applies on a new view or tab and in a shifted position on the same view or tab. This ensures a consistent look and feel and avoids the need for you to manually move your components to the correct position. For more information about the new Studio experience, see: new Studio experience (limited availability). And to learn how to create Studio views, see: Creating and configuring Studio views.
Process Adherence Manager (2024-03-05) Alignment Explorer gives more insights on how your process deviates from the model We've added a new capability to Process Adherence Manager for you to visualize the end-to-end flow of your variants, along with selected deviations. Alignment Explorer gives you a comprehensive view of the issue, letting you identify which variants are associated with a particular deviation, and helping you detect any process-based dependencies linked to the deviation. Click the list icon at the top left of the main page in Process Adherence Manager to get to Alignment Explorer. You can also open Alignment Explorer by clicking the list button in a card in Deviation Explorer, to see all variants based on that deviation. For the documentation, see Alignment Explorer.
Audit changes to your object-centric data model (2024-03-05) We’ll now add an entry to the audit log when your analysts do any of these things: Create, change, or delete object types, event types, perspectives, or transformationsPublish the object-centric data model just to development, or to production as wellEnable or disable a process from the Celonis catalog, and for a specific data connection Viewing your audit logs has instructions to see the audit logs, and Audit logs - Event details lists each of the events that we’ll be logging from now on.
Knowledge Hub (2024-02-23) New content for Order Management, Inventory Management, Procurement, and more (Limited Availability)Knowledge Hub, part of the Process Intelligence Graph, is a centralized, integrated, curated knowledge repository where you can browse, prepare, and validate knowledge before using it across all of Celonis. Knowledge Hub provides a common schema for how business concepts and objects relate, with streamlined creation and validation of knowledge, and AI annotations to enrich data and empower faster insights. With these capabilities you can speed up KPI validation and achieve faster time to value. Knowledge Hub was released in early access late last year with out-of-the-box knowledge for Accounts Payable, and we've been working to add more process knowledge. You can now access the top metrics for the Order Management, Inventory Management, and Procurement processes, along with universal cross-process content, and Accounts Receivable is following soon. Any of the assets in Knowledge Hub can be reused directly in Studio when you're building applications and views - you can include an asset by referencing its ID. Based on feedback we've also made some enhancements to the UI for filters, processes, and business concepts. Knowledge Hub is in Limited Availability status. To try out the feature, you'll need a Celonis license that includes object-centric process mining. Talk to your Celonis point of contact to find out more. You can read more about Knowledge Hub at Getting started with Knowledge Hub.
Knowledge Models (2024-02-22) Lock KPIs from base Knowledge Models in extension Knowledge ModelsYou can now choose to lock the KPIs in a Knowledge Model when it’s used as a base Knowledge Model. Locking the KPIs makes them immutable in the extension Knowledge Model, so analysts working there can't change KPIs that are taken from the base Knowledge Model. They can only make edits if they are working in the base Knowledge Model. Locking the base KPIs ensures that your company-wide KPI definitions can only be altered by analysts with direct edit access to the base Knowledge Model. You can lock an individual KPI, or all the KPIs in a Knowledge Model, when you're editing the base Knowledge Model. Any KPIs that you leave unlocked can be edited when they're used in an extension Knowledge Model, but locked ones can’t. To lock or unlock an individual KPI, toggle on the option Allow other analysts to edit KPI from extension KM. To lock or unlock all the KPIs in a Knowledge Model, use the lock icon in the top right corner of the Knowledge Model. For the documentation on KPIs, see Knowledge Model - KPI.
Material Allocation App (object-centric) version 1.0.0 (2024-02-22) Understand excess supply and uncovered demand and find inventory reallocation opportunities (General Availability) Our object-centric Material Allocation app for Inventory Management is now in General Availability status. The Material Allocation app uses constraint-based optimization and insights generated with object-centric process mining to identify opportunities for working capital optimization, through moving existing inventory from where it is not needed to where it is needed the most. The calculations take labor or transportation cost into account as well as any additional constraints specific to your business. Use the Bill of Material Explosion and Inventory Projection features to evaluate the impact and feasibility of your proposed re-allocations. The object-centric Material Allocation app is the successor to the case-centric Material Shortages app, which is now deprecated. The Material Allocation app is a premium app, and is subject to an additional licensing fee. Talk to your Celonis account team to arrange this before you download the app. To use the Material Allocation app you’ll need a Celonis license that includes object-centric process mining. The app needs some additional custom object types to enable its use cases, so you’ll need to create a custom Inventory Management perspective to use with the app in place of the supplied perspective. When you request the app in Marketplace we’ll provide a step-by-step guide for you to do this. For the app documentation, see Material Allocation app - object-centric.
Inventory Management Control Center, Master Data Improvement, and Starter Kit (object-centric), version 1.4.0 (2024-02-22) Streamlined calculations and enhanced quantity and currency conversion Version 1.2.0 of these apps, released mid-January, was an early release to fix an issue with attribute references exceeding the platform’s character limit. We also streamlined the calculation for purchase and production lead times to reduce nesting, moved calculations for averages earlier in the process so they needn’t be duplicated, and combined some KPIs that were only used once in the Knowledge Model and weren’t used in views. In version 1.3.0, released on 6 February, we updated the Quantity Conversion KPIs with the new QUANTITY_CONVERT PQL operator, and appended the existing Currency Conversion KPIs with enhanced operator syntax. Version 1.4.0 updates the object types, event types, and relationships from the Celonis catalog to be compatible with version 1.1.0 of the catalog. Upgrade the apps to version 1.4.0 to keep them in line with our updates to the Celonis catalog types. If you’ve extended any of the Celonis object types and event types, we’ll apply your extensions to the updated types. If you’ve replaced any of the Celonis object types and event types with custom equivalents, we won’t make any updates to those. If you find you have two exact copies of a relationship, a custom one and a catalog one, delete the custom one in each case. For the upgrade instructions, see Updating the object-centric Inventory Management Starter Kit.
Transformation Hub (2024-02-16) Add historical value to an opportunityIn Transformation Hub, you can now add and edit value that was already realized before you created an opportunity, or before the opportunity went live. Scroll to the end of the opportunity, and click Add to include historical realized value. Enter the amount of value and the estimated timeframe when it was realized, then click Save to add it to the opportunity. You can add historical value to opportunities in both Draft and Live status - so you can use any value you realized before Transformation Hub was launched or before you created the opportunity there, including value recorded in other tools like spreadsheets, or value based on data that's no longer in Celonis. With this functionality, Transformation Hub's Value Report can now be a single source of truth that showcases all the value realized over the opportunity's lifetime - perfect for sharing with business stakeholders. For the feature documentation, see Setting up Transformation Hub.
JDBC Extractor version 2.91.5 (2024-02-16) Optimizer hints for Oracle databasesIn this version of the JDBC Extractor we’ve added support for optimizer hints while extracting data from Oracle databases. We’ve also unified the three metadata retrieval approaches so that they all return consistent information. There’s some library updates, and our Windows installer executable is now signed with a Celonis certificate. For the instructions to update, see Installing and updating the on-premise JDBC extractor.
