Hi all,

First post here. Pleasure to meet you.

I just finished the Solution Professional Track and would like to start taking the exam soon, but one thing striked me as curious.

Except I have been missing it, VSQL was not included in the training except the "Best-Practice" module. That was like being thrown into the cold water, since I do not have a technical background. The Exam Prep mentiones SQL knowledge as prerequisite for the exam.

Since the academy does not seem to provide for a course, is there anyone who could tell me the depth which is needed to pass the exam and where I could learn that (i.e. youtube)?

Ideas would be appreciated. If someone is willing to do a personal exam prep and offers on fiverr or similar, feel free to shoot me a message.

Best wishes

Hi,

VSQL or Vertica in particular will not be a part of the exam. If there will be a question referring to this topic, it will be very generic in order to check if you understand the idea behind a concept.

regards Marco

Well thanks, great to hear.

Just to be clear, here is the screenshot from the SP Exam prep course.

Have a good evening.image

Hello,

There's Vertica SQL academy on version 10.0.x. Unfortunately it's far more advanced then needed when working on backend as it focused on more advanced topics like projections, database management, user management, optimization etc.

Simple sql course on youtube, checking the code code in the Implementation Professional track should do. The other important fact is that many of the analytical Vertica functions are not supported in the Event Collection (MERGE, LEAD/LAG, RANKING etc.). It's always good to also check the documentation when syntax is not clear.

Vertica Academy certification is free, link:
