Can someone explain the relationship between IBC, EMS and Snap? Many thanks.

Hi Philip,

thanks for your question.

The EMS is the Execution Management System which we launched last year as a new software category. It combines Process Mining with other functionalities around Task Mining, Process Simulation, Automation via our Action Flows, and much more. You can find an overview of all the different functionalities here: https://www.celonis.com/ems/platform/. The IBC (Intelligent Business Cloud) in that sense was the predecessor of the EMS, focusing mainly on Process Mining.

Snap is our free version of the EMS and allows you to get started with Process Mining and other functionalities with a smaller set of data. You can test it here.

Many thanks Heike,

I understand now there was an initiative to rename everything, unfortunately the training materials still call EMS IBC. Even the URL for process mining is launched from the Process Analytics button in EMS, so I hope to become more nimble in conversing in these terms, feeling a bit flat footed at the moment.

One point I'll raise with the Academy is (and I can't find where I read it) the certification presentation must reference up to date slides.

Thanks again

Philip

Hi Philip,

the Process Analytics tab is still visible for customers that have been using it before the shift to EMS. For all new customers, Process Analytics has shifted into the Studio tab and is no longer displayed in the navigation bar.

Best

Kevin

Maybe to add to this: All functionalities that used to be in PA are fully available in Studio as well so nothing will get lost when transitioning to Studio.

Hi Philip,

thanks for your feedback. Our academy is working on creating relevant new content that comes with the move to studio and redo the old content. We recently have gone through a "renovation" of our academy. The content should now be mostly up to date.

Best

Kevin

Hi Philip,

Tab is still available but you need to click on the 3 dots->Customize Toolbar->drag &drop Process Analytics to make it available for end user

Best,

Gabriel
