Hi all,

I’ve learned the cource of “Celonis Process Management (CPM)”, but I don’t understand meanings some words well.

I can understand

  • Category
    • Core Process, Main Process, Support Process
    • Main Process, Sub Process

But I can’t understand

  • Facet
  • Repository
  • Attribute (Attribute group)
  • Stereotypes

I would like to clearfy

  • When or Where to use
  • What is the main concept they are connected to

If there are any words which help me understand, feel free to add some words & concepts.

Dear all,

I studied and understood like this, so I leave a comment

  • Facet
    • Thus, nav bar like Process, Organization, Products… etc
  • Repository
    • I’m not sure where is the defference between repository and attribute.
  • Attribute (Attribute group)
    • the value connected to the process/task like Name, ID, KPI, Role...etc
  • Stereotypes
    • like tags admin can set

If you have an opinion, please feel free to leave a comment!

Best,

Hi Iori,

A facet in CPM is a label for a certain part of the organisation that we can document for them. For example, the System facet is the place in CPM where you document the applications used to support activities in the process. It is nothing more than another word for a category or label of a certain type of information. All organisational information can be found under the “Organization” facet.

The repository is another word for the total collection of process-related information. So, all the content that you have documented is stored in a database and another name for this collection of information is the repository.

Attributes are indeed pieces of relevant information (I like to call them enterprise artefacts) that can be connected to an object in CPM. Examples of objects are Tasks, Roles, Systems, KPI, etc… they all have attributes. There is a difference though between an attribute of an object and a connected object. For example: the validity date of an object is an attribute, but if you connect an application to a task, this application is not an attribute of the task, but merely a connected object.

Stereotypes are indeed like tags that can be assigned to object so that you can filter on them more easily.

Hope this helps and regards, Caspar
