My event log is too granular compared to the BPMN model. How can I  aggregate multiple small system events into one logical activity that matches my BPMN model?

Is there any documentation or training on the most common challenges faced during the conformance checking with Imported BPMN model?

Hi, the alignment of granularity between the baseline model (or documented model) and the event log is perhaps the biggest challenge for conformance checking.

There are two options for this:

(1) You adjust the documented model to make it more granular to match the event log, or

(2) You go the route that you pose in your question (in which case, your question is unfortunately posted in the wrong community, because this is a process mining topic, not a CPM topic.

What we do see often is that companies maintain two processes in the case that they do conformance checking. One process is the documented process aimed for consumption via the process navigator and the other process is in place purely to function as the baseline process for conformance checking (one the reasons for this is that baseline models for conformance need to contain the acceptable deviations and the models for consumption usually do not).

So, my advice is to ask this question also on the process mining community if you want to make changes to the event log.
