I have some confusion as to why analysis and views exist as separate entity. When both of them serve the same purpose despite the differences in availability of some features.

In Celonis, Analyses and Views serve distinct but complementary purposes, even though both are used for visualizing and exploring data.

Key Differences:

  1. Purpose & Use Case:

    • Analyses: Designed for in-depth data exploration and advanced process mining use cases. It offers high customization, allowing users to build dashboards with complex KPIs, filters, and interactive elements.
    • Views: Primarily meant for operational monitoring with a simplified interface. It is optimized for quick insights and real-time decision-making, particularly within Action Flows and Execution Apps.
  2. Customization & Features:

    • Analyses provide full control over PQL (Process Query Language) expressions, advanced filtering, and a wide range of visualization options.
    • Views are more streamlined and focus on key insights with limited customization, ensuring consistency and ease of use for operational teams.
  3. Integration with Action Flows:

    • Views integrate tightly with Celonis Action Flows, allowing users to trigger actions based on process insights.
    • Analyses are more focused on discovery, reporting, and deep process analytics.

Why Both Exist?

  • Analyses are for deep process mining and performance optimization.
  • Views provide an actionable, user-friendly interface for monitoring and decision-making in real time.

Thank you so much for the clarification.
