Open Tickets Trend - ServiceNow ITSM

Hey,

 

my goal is to setup a line chart that is showing the “open tickets by time”. The issue is that the status of the ticket is changing in the db, means i cannot say: Last week I had 20 open tickets (because the status of these “old” tickets changed already to closed and not open anymore), this week i am having 14 open tickets → trend is great. 

Do you have an idea on how i can establish such a graph? Maybe over the activity table or with somehow backups?
