Dear Celonis community,
I wonder if you have an idea how to approach the following question:
  1. we want to define an approval limit for vendor invoices.
  2. to visualize the current distribution of invoices, we show the invoice numbers and aggregated values by grouped invoice value (as in the following bar chart prepared in MS Excel).

Now, we would like to replicate this or a similar view in Celonis directly.

Unfortunately, I cannot identify a standard Celonis functionality to group invoice values into n clusters as dimension. (The existing bucketing function is not flexible enough.)
Question: did anyone already face a similar question and can share a way how to approach this?
Any input would be much appreciated.
Thanks,
Jochen
Dear Jochen,
Thank you very much for your request.
The standard way to group such values into clusters would be by using a histogram chart. Celonis would then create the clusters automatically for you. Anyway, your flexibility is limited.
Another work around would be the creation of a bar chart that contains the creation of clusters manually. Here, the case when statement can be applied to guarantee flexibility with respect to your cluster sizes. By doing so, you can also add a primary and a secondary axis to your chart just like you already created in Excel. Hope this helps!
Best,
Viana
Hi Jochen,
I am not 100% sure if I understood your requested correctly.
It is another process, but in general are you looking for something like this?

We created a dynamic Sales Order Amount range as dimension and added serveral KPIs to it (e.q. the number of Sales Documents, etc.)
If you need something like this, let me know and I can share the formular behind it.
All the best,
Marcel
Dear Viana,
dear Marcel,
thank you for your feedbacks!
a) The Histogram function indeed would enable us to get a rough overview about the distribution of invoice values (but with limited flexibility regarding the KPIs / Y-Axis).
Marcel: You are correct, we are trying to obtain KPIs like total amounts, aggregated values (and potentially also process KPIs like in your example) for specific buckets.
So I would be interested in the formula behind your solution.
Luckily, we are flexible in our solution design, we could split the requirement into two steps:
  1. show distribution via histogram, determine thresholds / range.
  2. Analyse specific intervals via a second component.

Best regards,
Jochen
Hi @Jochen,
Were Marcel and Viana able to answer your question? Or do you need any further support?
We are happy to help , it just wasnt clear to me from your last message if its needed.
Best wishes,
Calandra
