Welcome to our Career Stories: Building the Future with Process Intelligence series, where we celebrate the career journeys of our Celonis Community thought leaders to get inspired, learn from one another, and grow together.

Today, we are grateful to share Ewelina Michnicka’s career story. Currently creating impact at Fresenius Medical Care, Ewelina shares her key learnings, practical tips, and future growth plans. Not only has Ewelina been a member of the Champions Team 2025 and Champions Squad 2026, but she has also been growing a thriving GBS Celonis community from the ground up over the years. A truly inspiring story.

★ What led you into Process Intelligence?

“My journey into Process Intelligence began 6 years ago at Kimberly-Clark, where I first worked with Celonis as part of an analytics team. I started on the technical side — building front-end applications, learning PQL, and eventually moving to Accenture to design complex data models and automations. Over time, I naturally shifted into functional consulting, conducting fit-gap analyses and crafting business cases for clients.

However, I couldn't stop asking a fundamental question: What happens after the consultants leave? Does the technology actually drive lasting change, or does momentum stall?

That curiosity led me back to the business side at Fresenius Medical Care. Today, my team serves as the vital bridge between technology and business operations. We don't just build applications; we define clear pain points and success metrics before development even begins, ensuring every project delivers real organizational impact.”

★ Looking at the 5 Dimensions (Catalyst, Evangelist, Intrapreneur, Innovator, Technologist), where do you see yourself?

“I see myself as a multidisciplinary leader, blending technical depth with a strong focus on people and results. On the technical side, I love understanding tools from the ground up — I’m currently pursuing advanced studies in AI decision-making where I build agentic models from scratch. Understanding the core tech allows me to look past sales pitches and focus on true capability.

When it comes to unlocking value, my team celebrates business outcomes rather than simple launch dates. By combining gamified power-user programs, interactive hackathons, and rigorous outcome tracking, we’ve helped generate over €10 million in realized value.

Beyond internal results, I am deeply passionate about community building. I founded a GBS Celonis community that grew from 5 companies to over 50 organizations across Europe, hosting regular virtual meetups and in-person conferences. My goal is always to create collaborative spaces where professionals move past complaining about broken processes and focus on driving action.”

★ What helped you develop these skills and grow along your path?

“Thriving in technology requires a continuous learning mindset because the toolset changes constantly. To keep my team and organization ahead, I frequently invite external experts and trainers to run targeted workshops on emerging topics like Object-Centric Process Mining (OCPM) and AI.

Outside of formal training, two unexpected investments massively accelerated my career: seeking out experienced mentors and joining Toastmasters International. Mentors gave me strategic shortcuts, while Toastmasters transformed my public speaking skills and taught me to view feedback as an essential tool for growth rather than a threat.”

★ Where are you heading next in your career, and what skills are you looking to develop?

“Right now, my main focus is mastering AI integration and agentic systems. It’s an exciting, rapidly changing space full of unanswered questions, which makes the challenge incredibly energizing.

The best part of this shift is growing alongside the community I’ve built over the years. The same network of process intelligence experts I collaborated with previously is stepping into the AI frontier together, giving us a trusted circle to brainstorm solutions and tackle complex challenges.”

★ What is your top recommendation for someone just starting their Process Intelligence journey?

“My biggest recommendation for anyone starting out in Process Intelligence is to cultivate an action-driven mindset.

Take complete ownership of your work, execute relentlessly, and make sure you close the loop to celebrate tangible results. Whether you are earning your very first certification or launching an enterprise app, stay focused on the real-world value you create at the end of the day.”
