Here’s one of our small wins this month 🎉

We recently ran into an issue where email alerts from our Celonis Action Flows stopped triggering. After some investigation, we discovered that the problem originated from the SMTP connection being used for sending email notifications.

The tricky part was that the issue wasn’t immediately obvious. Even after engaging Celonis Support and the SMTP (TMS Product) team, it was difficult to pinpoint the exact cause due to limited visibility across systems and teams. Eventually, we identified that a network configuration change had restricted outbound traffic on specific ports, which broke the SMTP connection.

Once the correct port was re-enabled for our SMTP setup, everything started working again. ✔️

It might sound like a simple fix, but coordinating across teams and diagnosing the issue with restricted visibility made this a challenging one. Still, we managed to resolve it — and that’s definitely a small win worth celebrating this month! 🙌

Wow, this is such a solid win, thank you for sharing this! 🎉
Issues like these are never as “simple” as they seem from the outside. Diagnosing SMTP problems across multiple teams, limited visibility, and network-level constraints is exactly the kind of behind the scenes work that keeps operations running smoothly.

Huge kudos to you and the team for sticking with it and getting to the root cause 👏
These kinds of learnings help everyone here, thank you for opening up the story!
