How to use OR in numerator and denominator while writing KPI in ratio format

In the numerator you can include the OR without problem in the PQL statement.

For the denominatior I would set a Filter at the component level (Background filter) with the OR condition.

I agree with what Javier said.

As a workaround you can also try creating a variable wherein you can write 'OR PQL' query and use that in your component.

It should work.
