How to manage standardization and quality control when you support the self-service approach for users to create their own analyses? Besides, offering established templates for it.

After viewing the "Thought Leader Panel: Managing Real Organizational Change: The New Center of Excellence on CoE" I wonder: How to manage standardization and quality control when you support the self-service approach for users to create their own analyses? Besides, offering established templates for it.

Salma, great question and thanks for asking. Driving standardisation and quality does not go well with self-service, if every user applies own principles. In our CoE Playbook approach we differentiate three CoE Value propositions:

  1. Platform as a Service: here the CoE provides a technological platform and has little impact on standardisation and quality assurance. The CoE might provide standard business objects in a data library and guidelines for standard reports.
  2. Process Mining as a Service: in this case the CoE provides standards reports and thus has obviously good influence on standardisation and quality assurance
  3. Execution Management as a Service: in this case the CoE takes a strong lead in driving change, standardisation and operational value
