Hi All,

How can we clear View selection in 1 click?

This is fairly straightforward in Analysis, where it is possible to create a button component that will 'Delete selections'. I find no such equivalent in Views.

To add some context, we are creating views that integrate several KMs, which we'd like to separate by tabs (tab1 for KM ABC, tab2 for KM XYZ). The problem is that selecting on tab 1 will apply the filtering for the entire view and all KMs.

if the table.field (item creation date) i'm am filtering for is present in both KMs, then both KMs will be filtered for that selection, even though the filtering is only relevant for KM ABC. This will lead to misunderstandings.

Ideally, i would like to create a view that upon clicking on a tab selection will clear the user selection. Is this doable?

Hi @erwan.bégoc - Interesting, I think it is not possible with Tabs but if you do it with Buttons - We can configure buttons to update view variable and skill. View variable will update the Embedded view and skill will refresh the page ( We can give and URL without any filters in manual Sensor )

Hi,

I guess the tabs are embedded views? You could include the filter bar on the embedded view itself and deactivate the share selections option? Then they should be valid only for the embedded view you are currently on. To do that, click on edit in the "master view" where the embedded views are included as tabs and then "edit component" of the embedded view. On the right side, you see the general options, there deselect the share options.

Hello Erwan,

To remove view selections fast and easy, business users can click View settings --> restore to default View.

Screenshot 2024-05-30 at 15.17.32In your opinion: what is the upside from a business user perspective of clicking on a button vs. using the platform setting?

Hi @stephanie.parra ,

This is exactly what i was looking for, i had not experimented with the embedded Views until now but your suggestion was the best, and i'm now able to achieve what i intended.

One caveat though, this embedded view feature appears to only be available (as far as i can tell) in legacy Views. Hopefully, Celonis introduces this feature (or makes it more obvious) in the new Views soon.

Hello Erwan,

We do not plan to re-introduce this capability of the embedded view feature to new Views anytime soon. Initially, embedded views were introduced in legacy Views for the purpose of reusing components or groups of components in multiple places. This capability is on our roadmap and will be introduced to new Views. Having separate filter bars for different tabs is not on our roadmap at the moment. More details can be found in the documentation https://docs.celonis.com/en/studio-feature-availability-matrix.html#UUID-d33f8a4b-cfe4-e0c2-42bc-82c2b92ebb63_section-idm4512383374966434317123804451

In case you need to discuss your specific use case further, I am happy to schedule a call to discuss the details of your use case.

Cheers

Thanks for pointing this out @carolin.ullri .

It would be nice to be able to restrict the filter bar selection to a specific tab and knowledge model, since it is currently possible to set up a tab specific filter bar and a view with several knowledge models.

At this stage, we are only starting to develop views for a management audience who wishes to have an overview of all metrics at a glance. Hence the necessity to integrate and combine several KMs in one view while keeping each selection independent.

I know we are not the only ones doing this at the moment.

Happy to hear any solution you can provide with regards to this specific topic in the new version of Views.

Best Regards,
