In other tools, I would crop the process, export the new event log for the cropped process and import the new event log back as a new process. Is there a smarter way of doing that in Celonis?

If not, is there a way to export the adjusted event log from Celonis?

Hi Kiarash,

You could try altering the eventlog by excluding the activities that you don't want to see in the analysis. To achieve that you can disable the activity creation transformations that you want to exclude, rerun all transformations, and then reload the data model. There are shortfalls to this method, however, the biggest being the fact that this will alter the data model for all analyses and users for a time being.

Hi Eugene,

Thank you for the reply. If I understood you correctly, I cannot do that. The problem is that the same activity can happen multiple times, but I want to crop the process until its first occurrence. If I exclude the activity all together I won't have my end event at all in the data model.

Kiarash - I see what you're trying to achieve.

To the best of my knowledge, that functionality is not available (as far as limiting the whole analysis to a specific activity in the flow). You can limit a specific process explorer view using the hide button (eye button in the screenshot below), but it will not apply to the whole analysis.

Hi Eugene,

Thanks for your reply. Actually the better way to limit a Process Explorer for my case is to use the crop filter. However, it would not solve my problem, that I want to adjust the Variant Explorer as well. I guess I need to manipulate the source data and upload a new one then.

Thanks again!

Kiarash
