I am getting file validation error while trying to upload XLS file. What is the issue and how to resolve it?

I am trying to upload XLS file (just in KBs) . I get the following error. Could you please help?

File validation failed. The following error occurred during upload: A part with the name '/docProps/core.xml' already exists : Packages shall not contain equivalent part names and package implementers shall neither create nor recognize packages with equivalent part names. [M1.12]
