Dear Celonis Community!
Last week, we showed you how you can use advanced Process Explorer visualizations to view a process from different perspectives.
This week, we want to share with you how you can use the Transformation Center with OKRs to align your goals across the whole organization.
For realizing business transformation and monitoring your initiatives, the Transformation Center allows you to define clear Objectives and attach measurable Key Results (KPIs) to them.
With this, the whole company can pull on the same string and executing a companies’ strategy will be a breeze!
See here how the Transformation Center plays into the value realization process with Celonis
What exactly are OKRs?
Prior known as Management by Objectives, OKRs became widely known as one of Google’s key principles for organizational alignment and goal setting. After defining a high-level organizational Objective that is easy to communicate, the Objectives for departments are defined. The Objectives of the departments are more concrete and strongly relate to the overall Strategy of the organization. This process can continue up to an individual employee, to ensure everyone in the organization is working towards the same goals. For every Objective, several Key Results are defined to measure success. The two main questions of OKRs are
“Where do I want to go?” and “How do I get there?”
OKRs are usually set on a quarterly basis and thus allow for iterative Key Result definition.
How does this look like in the Transformation Center?
On the left, you can see the overview of all your Objectives that you want to achieve (e.g. Excellence in Operations). Attached to this Objective, you see the relevant Key Results (KPI with a Milestone attached to it) that will lead you to your goal.
On the right, you see the details page of a Key Result. It allows you to keep track of how your metric evolves as you implement initiatives to reach your milestones.
What else can Transformation Center do?
- Set Milestones on your KPIs
- Assign Initiatives to a KPI to keep track of their status and responsibilities
- Subscribe to your Objectives to receive updates and reports directly to your mailbox
Coming back to OKRs, this is what Larry Page (CEO of Alphabet and co-founder of Google) has to say about them:
“OKRs have helped lead us to 10x growth, many times over. They’ve helped make our crazily bold mission of ‘organizing the world’s information’ perhaps even achievable. They’ve kept me and the rest of the company on time and on track when it mattered the most.”
– Larry Page
